Mission Statement
The Surry County School System is committed to educating all students to be productive workers, responsible citizens, and life-long learners, enabling them to be globally competitive and prepared for life in the 21st Century.

Goals
Goal 1:  To attract, train, and retain quality personnel with skills to deliver 21st Century content

Goal 2:  To produce globally competitive students who excel in rigorous and relevant curricula, and who achieve standards defined by the state and federal legislation

Goal 3:  To foster business, community, and family relationships for impacting student success in the 21st Century

Goal 4:  To enhance teaching and learning through the interconnectedness of knowledge, skills, and performance, while emphasizing 21st literacies

Goal 5:  To seek additional funding to maximize student achievement in the 21st Century

Goal 6:  To provide a safe and orderly environment and a caring culture of learning that empowers and prepares students for success in the 21st Century

Goal 7:  To enhance communication and relationships with elected officials and community agencies
